- Introduction to DofE in Wales and the West

Easter gave the opportunity for leaders from Hereford, Worcester, Clwyd and Gwynedd to be introduced to the DofE by volunteers led by members of the Advisory Panel.

- Junior Leader Golds still going strong
-

A group of ‘ex-boy’ soldiers who earned their Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards (DofE) in the 1960s during their time at Tonfanau army camp, Gwynedd, will be climbing Cadair Idris, Snowdonia, on 23rd March 2013, to mark the group’s 10th reunion and celebrate the valuable skills learnt while completing their DofE at the camp.

- A Big Day at the Palace

18 ACF cadets and former cadets received their Gold Award at St James’s Place London attended by HRH Duke of Edinburgh who heard from them about their journey to the Gold Award. Counties represented were Somerset, Sussex, Dorset, Norfolk, Derbyshire, Dyfed and Glamorgan, Gwent and Yorks N&W, and also Guernsey. Thanks to Capt Michael Nolan for being a Marshall and taking the pictures.

- Training the Tutors at Frimley

While a DofE Leadership Certificate course was being run at CTC, the opportunity was taken to take 25 experienced leaders through the Orientation training to become tutors or Course Directors on the IttDofE, ESTC, EAAS and Certificate courses.

A busy St Davids weekend at Llanelli saw both cadet and CFAV leaders learning about the DofE or how to supervise expeditions. Thanks to all volunteers involved - staff and students alike.
