Win a trip abroad and get a DofE Skill pass. The Imperial War Museum is running an interesting competition which might appeal to some cadets looking for a Skill option (Military History). Entries for the prize must be in by 9th September, but it is still do-able! And it is not necessary to win a prize to count the activity towards DofE.

- Accrediting Expedition Assessors - NO PANIC!

The Award is presently rolling out a scheme to eventually accredit all expedition assessors. ACFA supports this scheme, and is looking at how best to implement it. Regular information will come to County DofE Officers, who will pass it to those interested in becoming accredited assessors. Meanwhile - it is business as usual, and all expedition training and assessment should go ahead as normal.

- The Foundation Certificate Course

Congratulations to Major Marian Tait, DofE Officer of West Lowland Bn, ACF who successfully completed the first ever Foundation Certificate course which was held at Arrochar, Argyll. Marian was presented with her Foundation Certificate in Award Leadership at the end the course by Lt Col Alistair Spowage, the Course Director. Major Neal Dunn also tutored on the course.

- Duke of Edinburgh's Award Open Gold Expeditions

There is an opportunity for Gold Award participants who are not able to form a team to come together in a CCF/ACF/ATC Open Gold expedition. These will be held at the Cadet Centres for Adventure Training and in Bavaria. Candidates must have completed all the preliminary training and practice expedition, and have the completion of training certificate signed in their Record Book.
